WILCO RECYCLING OPENS IN TAYLOR.

More than 175 people, including local and state representatives, were on hand Nov. 9 for the grand opening of the Wilco Recycling Center in Taylor.

Wilco Recycling made a $6 million investment in the 40,000-square-foot facility that will result in 25 full-time jobs. Three cities — Pflugerville, Round Rock and Cedar Park — will be served by the plant. The facility is located on the northwest side of Taylor near County Road 394 and Chandler Road.

The city of Taylor assisted officials through the rezoning process, expedited permitting and, along with the Taylor Economic Development Corp., closed incentives contracts, allowing Wilco Recycling to build the facility and begin operations in less than a year, City Manager Jim Dunaway said.

“This project is part of the wholesale-trades sector, which diversifies Taylor’s existing employment base by creating new commodities-based jobs,” said Jason Ford, Taylor EDC president and CEO.
