Workforce Resources

The Taylor EDC has established strong relationships with local and state workforce organizations to ensure that Taylor employers have access to world-class talent. Whether you want to hire new employees or train existing staff, the following organizations are here to serve you:
  • Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area - Provides job listings, employee search, applicant screening, training programs, and access to workforce incentives for companies locating in the rural Greater Austin area
  • East Williamson County Higher Education Center - Provides advanced manufacturing and healthcare technology training. The EWCHEC has Legacy Early College High School and middle college designations from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board
  • Texas Workforce Commission - The state agency charged with providing workforce development services to employers and job seekers. For employers, the TWC offers recruiting, retention, training and retraining, and outplacement services as well as information on labor law and labor market statistics
  • Texas Skills Development Fund - The Texas Skills Development Fund finances the design and implementation of customized job training projects. This fund matches business needs with local customized training programs. In FY 2005, the Fund awarded grants totaling $8.6 million to 95 Texas companies. Local Workforce Training & Pipeline

East Williamson County Higher Education Center

There are currently five partners in the East Williamson County Higher Education Center: Temple College, Texas State Technical College, Texas Tech University, Concordia University Texas, and Legacy Early College High School. Charter colleges were Temple College and Texas State Technical College. Texas Tech announced as a partner in 2008 (Watch the press conference announcement here), and Concordia University Texas in 2009. Legacy Early College High School was established in 2007. Currently 80% of the students enrolled are on-track to earn their associate degree prior to their high school diploma.
